Sampler Block of the Month Instructor: Alice
Bross As you learn to make
fifteen different quilt blocks, you will learn the unique story
behind each design. Fascinating quilt and stories. Bring a mat,
ruler, rotary pins, and scissors. Dates: Fourth
Monday of the month from 6 - 8 pm Cost: $10.00 per month.
The fee includes the kit for each block. However, you must
come to the class to receive the kit. |
Individual Sewing Classes Instructor: Alice
Bross These classes are designed
for your needs and schedule. Young or older students are welcome.
Work on the project of your choice. These classes can also be
geared to those of you who need more help in learneing to use
macnines that you already have. Fee: $25 for a 2 hour

Baltimore Album-Hand
Applique Block of the Month Instructor: Toni
Elliot Once per month meet
for two hours to create nine beautiful blocks. In month ten
you will be working with sashing and placement of the blocks. Month
eleven you will be working on a variety of border options and
discussing the marking of the quilt. Month twelve you will layer,
baste, and begin to quilt. This will be a beautiful quilt made a
little at a time. Not an overwhelming task. Pick-up a supply list
and plan to join the class. Date: Third Thursday of

Pioneer Sampler Block of the
Month Instructor: Alice
Bross Quilts were an important
part of settling the west. The dozen blocks in the Pioneer Sampler
represent geographical sights that they passed through in search of
a place to make a home. Bring a mat, ruler, rotary cutter,
scissors, pins, thread, and join the class. Dates: First Thursday of the month from 6-8
pm

Table Runner of the Month Each month make a table
runner of the season. You will learn many techniques as we work
together to complete these complementary

Egg Money Quilt Block of
the Month A 1930's vintage sampler. During the
1930's most eggs were produced on rural farms with small flocks.
With the funds from selling eggs, the farmer's wife may have
purchased fabric in order to make a quilt similar to the one we
will be making. Come to the store and see the blocks and chose if
you wish to use dark or light fabric. Instructor: Alice Bross Dates: Third Thursday of each month 6-8

Mariner's Compass If you can sew a straight line, you can make this star. By paper piecing, you can get exact points without a lot of fussing. Instructor: Toni Elliot Dates: Friday, October 26 & November 16 Time: 6-8 pm Fee: $35 |
Log Cabin The first class will be an
introduction to the two methods that will be taught color
combinations, size, and varieties. Bring a notebook and a

Hand Piecing 101 Have you always wanted to make a quilt but don't own a sewing machine? Or have you been machine piecing for awhile and want to get back to basics and make one the way our grandmothers did? Which ever is your reason this is the class for you. We will explore the stitch, making templates, threads, and needles and joining different units together. By the end of the class you will have the skills necessary to make any quilt you want. In fact, some of the more difficult quilts are easier when hand pieced.We will do a 4 patch, curves, triangles, and angles such as you need for tumbling blocks. Radiant Star The radiant star, also known as the Lone Star, Texas Star, and Star of Bethlehem, has long been a favorite among quilt lovers. In this dramatic design, one large multi pieced star covers the mattress top from side to side. Star appears to burst from the center and radiate to the tips of the eight large identical diamonds. With carefully selected colors, the quilt virtually appears to pulsate or explode from the radiant color outward. An optional diamond strip border srrounds the star, adding energy. See you in class! Fan Quilt or Wall Hanging The fan block goes together as quickly as you wave. The fan has been called by various names: Victorian Fan, Grandmother's Fan, or Oriental Fan. Depending on the use of the fbric, color, and embellishment, the look is magically transformed to "old-fashioned' or elegant. You will need the book, Fans & Flutterbys by Paricia Knoechel.
